Building toys with recycled materials

Die Schüler unserer Partnerschule in Parrillas, Spanien haben sich mit der Thematik "Verpackungen und Recycling" beschäftigt.

Denkt man über dieses Thema nach, wird schnell klar, dass der beste Umweltschutz die Wiederverwendung von Dingen ist, auch von Verpackungen.

Die Schüler haben neben der Ernsthaftigkeit dieses Themas auch eine Freude machende Seite von Recycling entdeckt und z.B. Stelzen selbst gebaut.

Zum Nachbauen hier eine kleine Anleitung

1. Man benötigt zwei leere Dosen, zwei große Nägel, zwei Seile, etwas Klebeband und Farbe oder Papier zum Dekorieren

2. Als erstes verziert man die Dose,(z.B. passend zu den "Vier Elementen")

3. Die Bänder werden an den Enden mit Klebeband verstärkt

4. Mit den Nägeln die Bänder an der Dose befestigen

5. Und nun kanns los gehen!

Talking about packaging, we know that the second best rule for taking care of our Earth is reusing. Our pupils have been learning to find another use for some packages that were going to be thrown away or recycled. They have built a pair or stilts in PE class, to do some exercise and have some fun at the same time.  

This is the process of making the stilts:

1^st. We need two empty cylinder steel cans, two big nails, two strings, some tape and paper and crayons for decoration.

2^nd. We start with the decoration, this time related to our Four Elements.

    

3^rd. We glue the paper decoration on the cans’ surface.

   

4^th. We prepare the strings and fix the endings with the tape.

5^th. We introduce the strings in the bottles, where we had made some holes and fix them with the help of the nails.

6^th. Finally stilts are ready to have fun!

In the short video, you can see how the pupils have been trying to use their new toys and later they have been enjoying games in PE class with them.
